Job Description
Responsibilities*
The student office assistant position will support the Conferences & Events department professional staff with the following:
- Answer incoming telephone and email inquiries
- Complete incoming reservations using a computerized scheduling system
- Provide administrative support for the department
- Complete assigned special projects
- Assist with office organization (mail, supplies and cleaning of common areas)
- Creation of documents, spreadsheets and fliers as requested
- Maintain accurate departmental files
- Run requested reports from the scheduling system
Required Qualifications*
- Current or incoming UM-Flint student/ work-study preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- Knowledge of UM-Flint campus or familiar with University policies and procedures
- Possess good organizational skills, initiative, and a positive attitude
- Desire to assist others and provide a high level of customer service
- Strong professional work ethic
- Knowledge of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail and Slides
